Re Rebaudengo: “Companies in the electricity sector and its industrial chain could create 500,000 jobs by 2030”

The association confindustriale Elettrica futura, the most representative of the national electricity supply chain, intervened in Rimini as part of the KE energ Energ event, focusing on the development of renewable electricity in Italy, the impact on networks and licensing procedures.

“The 2030 Plan for the development of the electricity sector assumes a strategic value for our country because it will allow us to reach about 85% of renewable electricity starting from the current 38%. By doing so, Italy could save 30 billion euros per year in gas imports”, explains President Agostino Re Rebaudengo, underlining its employment impact:”In Italy, companies in the electricity sector and its industrial chain could create 500,000 jobs by 2030″.

To achieve the decarbonisation targets, it is necessary to act in a coordinated manner on three elements: the development of renewable sources, the deployment of storage systems and investments in network infrastructure. Bureaucracy, however, is still a powerful brake, contributing to the energy transition to renewables that has been going at a snail’s pace for a decade now.

For this reason Elettrica futura turned to Barbara Clementi-renewable Energy manager of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security –, who spoke on stage, reiterating the willingness to collaborate so that already in 2023 the first 10 g rinnovabile of new renewable capacity can be realized, the national goal necessary to comply with the dictates of the REPO piano
